Curt Gowdy

A sunny solo adventure at Curt Gowdy State Park in southern Wyoming. Returning for a second visit, I set out with no plan—just a desire to hike and explore. With 35 miles of trails and no cell service, it’s a mix of freedom and a little bit of panic, but instincts win out as the journey unfolds. Between the blazing sun, a surprise wildlife encounter with an adorable chipmunk, and a scenic (if dusty) detour past some curious cows on the way home, the day turns into a reminder that the best adventures often come from simply following your curiosity.
